Head Start Director for Jamestown, KY
-(10 county area) Requirements: Requires a minimum of a baccalaureate degree and experience in supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration. Must have knowledge in Early Childhood Education and Head Start Program. Minimum of five (5) years’ program management experience required. Must possess good written and oral communication skills, basic recordkeeping knowledge in addition to budgetary management experience. Must have a good work history and possess the ability to establish good professional working relationships with community partners and can effectively communicate with Head Start staff, service providers and families. Must be 21 years of age. Must successfully complete background checks, physical exam, and drug/alcohol testing. COVID vaccination required.
Duties: This position must ensure that all content areas covering all program options, including Early Head Start and Migrant, are monitored adequately to ensure that all Head Start Performance Standards are met or exceeded.
Other duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain open communication with Content Area Managers (CAM), Local Area Managers (LAMs), and other staff to ensure content area operations run smoothly & effectively. Review requisitions in a timely manner relating to the assigned content area and ensure requested items and/or services are allowable, applicable, and reasonable for program operation. Review program budget monthly. Attend center staff meetings as requested by the Local Area Manager (LAM). Visit each center regularly. Review monthly content area reports submitted by CAMs and LAMs. Conduct job performance evaluations for CAMs and LAMs.
Ensure Content Area Plans are updated annually and presented to Policy Council. Assist with planning Pre-Service and/or In-Service trainings based on child outcomes report results, CLASS observations, and staff surveys. Ensure CLASS observations are conducted as required. Collaborate with Community Partners, including LEAs. Ensure Strategic Plan, Self-Assessment and Community Needs Assessment are updated as required. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
